Psilocybin retreats in Jamaica

The law, in plain language

Psilocybin mushrooms are not listed in Jamaica's Dangerous Drugs Act: unscheduled and unregulated, with no licensing regime.

Psilocybin mushrooms were never listed in Jamaica's Dangerous Drugs Act, and in 2021 the Agriculture Minister said it is legal to grow them. There is no licensing regime for retreats, and in August 2024 the Ministry of Health said it has not approved any psilocybin product. The position is unscheduled and unregulated, not licensed, and the head of the National Council on Drug Abuse has asked for the Act to be amended.
